An opportunity for all Rap, Reggae and R&B singers with skills and lyrical ability to reach a wider audience, have a chance to win prize money plus feature on an internationally distributed album. (New York, NY: March 15, 2008) eMultimedia Group is now in the process of preparing to lay the groundwork for the launch of its next project with its flagship artist producer and songwriter, Jair Dynast. In keeping with our innovative approach to how we do the business of music, it was decided at our year-end meeting that we would offer as many unsigned musicians as possible a chance to showcase their skills and lyrics. The most appropriate and efficient way to accomplish this gargantuan task would be to run a Remix Contest. This Remix contest is different in that it allows eMultimedia a chance to reach out to artists in Reggae, R&B and Soul in addition to Rap Hip Hop. The contest will run from March to December 2008. The grand prize winner and runners-up will be chosen in much the same way that the American Idol is chosen. Participants in the contest will announce their participation to their fans and as many people as possible so that votes can be cast for their remix done on free instrumental rap beats from our producer, Jair Dynast. Jair has been compared to Immortal Technique, Nas, Kanye West and Common among others. He has the distinction of being awarded RapReviews Top 10 Album of the Year for V.I.A.L.E.N.C.E. His single, Vicious was #1 on Grassroots Hip Hop Charts and his album has been critically acclaimed by internationally renowned journalists from notable magazines like Blues & Soul, Knowledge, Elemental, Hip Hop Connection, Urban Connectionz, Sound Slam and more. His music has been played all around the world from commercial mixshow radio play in Japan to Top Ten Chart placement on commercial radio in Greece. Visitors to http://rap.jairdynast.com will be allowed to listen to the remix of artists from the genre of choice, login and vote for their favorite artist. Three top artists will be chosen by the voters and each will earn a US$ prize amount. They will be given the opportunity to feature on brand new recordings from Jair Dynast, plus eMultimedia will take full responsibility to promote, distribute and market the project internationally at no additional costs to any artist that makes the final three of the Remix Contest. This is an excellent opportunity for all Rap, Reggae and R&B singers with skills and lyrical ability to reach a wider audience as there will be large numbers of music fans visiting and voting in the Rap Hip Hop Remix Contest. As well, all contestants will be given various tools to announce and promote their participation on their personal social network pages such as, Myspace, Facebook, Migente, Hi5, Imeem and other indie music forums of their choice. The Year 2006 in Review Author: Adam Bernard Forget all those people who try to tell you that Hip-Hop is dying, or that there isn't anything good out there to listen to anymore. When going through albums for my year end top ten list I had more than forty I felt were deserving of notoriety. Here's who made my year end "Best Of" list. (Please note I compiled this list midway through December, so please no emails about how I left off albums that came out after the 12th) TOP 10 RECORDS OF THE YEAR 10) Lady Sovereign - Public Warning Some of the rhymes have a juvenile (and I don't mean the southern rapper) quality to them, but she's only 19 so it's not annoying, it's endearing. She's acting her own age with her lyrics, but has the skills of someone years her senior. "Tango" ranks as one of my favorite songs of the year with its classic "Bitch you're orange!" taunt in the chorus. (myspace.com/ladysovereign) 9) Jair Dynast - Vialence Vialence, which stands for Vicious Ignorance Amounts to Little Except Negative Consequences n' Expression, is an impressive collection of songs that have some social concern in them and showcase a lot of lyrical ability, as well. The production style of Vialence is also pretty unique as it encompasses the influences of all of the places Dyanast has called home, including Toronto, Barbados, Connecticut and Texas. Overall it's a fantastic launching pad for a talented artist. (http://myspace.com/jairdynast) Follow link above to read full Article Mon, 30 Oct 2006 22:12:41 +0100 urbanconnectionz, 2006
Hip-hop has been improving for quite some time, and its steadily on an up-spiral. More artists are holding themselves accountable for what they have to say and offer, and they are consequently putting our more socially conscious music that not only feeds their fanbase in the streets, but also teaches the youth who are also listening closely. Jair Dynast is definitely among the handful of newer artists that are out to gain something more than a pocket full of money and a few screaming fans. His debut, "V.I.A.L.E.N.C.E", is sure to strike a chord with many hip-hop fans. Just release less than a month ago, hes already impacting the lives of many who have had the chance to cop it. His track "The Intro" caught me right from the start. Not your typical track, in this song, Jair utilizes words beginning with "IN" throughout the track as a way of bringing us all into his world of poetry. Like many others before him, he talks about the struggles that come along with growing up within the inner city on tracks like "Profiling" and "Change", yet, he does it in a tactful way that isnt so forced and overbearing. Much of the album has a strong educational factor, and you know that hes not just coming off the top of his head, but really coming from his heart and giving us true accounts in his music. This aint ya average album. This is an amazing debut album. Vicious Ignorance Amounts to Little Except Negative Consequence n Expression is special, its not a collection of tracks that are just thrown together on a CD its a well crafted album that bends the rules of conventional rap and isnt scared to push boundaries such as the raga-techno fused Takin Ova and the crazy organ grove that is Like A G. He raps tight and has bars for days, and the whole ten-panel artwork gatefold CD packaging certainly mad it stick out next to all those CDRs we get to review! Big up Jair the one whom God has enlightened. Mon, 30 Oct 2006 22:12:41 +0100 illhill, 2006
Jair Dynast was forced to find a new career when his scholarship and basketball career suddenly ended when he was diagnosed with "Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy." A condition which in most cases isn't discovered by athletes before it's too late. So Jair had to find a new outlet and soon after he picked up the mic. This resulted eventually in the "V.I.A.L.E.N.C.E." album. Jair's style is complex and witty and he doesn't hesitate to mix in positive messages. Another impressive feat is that the entire album is produced by Jair himself. Some of the hooks don't come out as strong as the lyrics, for example on "Gorilla War," where the weak hook is balanced out by a banging beat and dope lyrics. Aside from some of the lesser hooks, this is still a dope album. Mon, 30 Oct 2006 22:12:41 +0100 ukhh, 2006
Now here is something different from the well-respected eMultimedia imprint. Jair is a relatively new artist who I havent come across before but will be definitely checking for again. This two track single that has landed through my door has given me inspiration in believing that real Hip-Hop music is still alive. Vicious is a real original sounding atmospheric beat with Jairs words of wisdom sitting well. The flipside track Pull Up is my personal favourite with lyrics that remind me of a young Chuck D. This aint a track I made for introspection/But Im publishing knowledge like them Britannica collections/Too many of us dying from unprotected erections/So we got bigger issues than George Bush winning elections. With killer bars like that I am sure that Jair Dynast is gonna be one huge MC on the underground. Brilliant, diverse and above all its all fresh! Mon, 30 Oct 2006 22:12:41 +0100 hiphopch, 2006
JAIR DYNAST's 12-INCH REVIEWED BY ONE WEEK TO LIVE (WEEKLY) MAGAZINE AND RECEIVES 5 OUT OF 7! Album: "VICIOUS"/"PULL UP" 12-INCH FROM THE V.I.A.L.E.N.C.E. ALBUM Review by: ONE WEEK TO LIVE MAGAZINE Artist: JAIR DYNAST Label: eMultimedia Group Rating: 5 out of 7 Web Site/Magazine: ONE WEEK TO LIVE WEEKLY MAGAZINE Coming out of New York via Canada and the Caribbean, 'Vicious' isn't brutal revenge but the circle that the streetstruck can't escape, the self-produced track looking for light while locaked in the doldrums with ctrasting guitar twangs and synth twiddles. 'Pull Up', again all JD's own work, brings the drama with down South scurry and strings cutting through the air to accentuate Dynast's faintly awkward, before-the-beat flow that seems to cut itself short at the end of every bar. The effort he puts into forceful wordplay, compared to the limited skills of other crunk creators is worth of praise and balances both brains and brawn. |
