Copyright: © Tue, 22 Jul 2008 16:58:50 +0200 PENSACOLA– July 21, 2008 – Small Business Management expert, Nicole Dean, understands the value of marketing, networking and continuing education when building a business. Those three components are the basis for a freelancers’ business directory and network called “Shelancers” that Dean recently created with fellow entrepreneur Darina Loakman. “Over the last few years I’ve built a successful business addressing the needs of women who want to work from home. Creating the Shelancers directory with Darina was the next step in finding a professional platform to promote and connect women business owners with potential clients. And, it works. In fact, I’ve hired several women myself through the directory,” explains Dean. Shelancers is a directory of business service providers that includes top professionals from various fields including bookkeepers and ghost writers to virtual assistants and graphic designers. All members of Shelancers are independent contractors offering the kinds of services that are in high demand by business owners who want skilled workers, but may not have the resources or need for a full-time, onsite staff member. One of the fastest growing segments of the market place today is the small business sector—especially those companies capitalizing on the opportunity offered by doing business online. The challenge these businesses face is finding the professionals they need in an efficient and timely way. Shelancers is fast becoming the conduit for connecting skilled service providers with business owners. Freelancers benefit from the expert marketing strategies put in place by Shelancers to promote their members. But that is only part of the story as Dean and Loakman are also focused on developing ways to help their members to attain business longevity and success. “I am passionate about helping women to realize financial independence. Too many freelancer directories focus on being the largest or on attracting the most freelancers. We’re focused on creating strategies, services and resources to ensure that freelancers who join our membership also become sustainable and successful businesses,” explains Dean. “The members’ area at Shelancers is quickly filling up with marketing and technical training to help our members attract more clients while expanding and sharpening their skill sets.” Shelancers acknowledges and responds to female freelance professionals who want * To be listed in a directory that is being actively and effectively promoted online to business owners in the United States, Canada, Europe and around the world; For more information about how a freelancers can benefit from this innovative business and promotional resource visit www.shelancers.com. Florida resident, Nicole Dean has been helping women work from home since 2004 and is a recognized expert in Online Business and Affiliate Management. A resident of Ireland, Darina Loakman was included in a list of 50 of the most influential women in Ireland as compiled by the Examiner Newspaper (2006). Both entrepreneurial moms are available for media interviews to discuss their joint venture - Shelancers (http://www.shelancers.com). ### Contact: Post from: Work at Home Moms Talk Radio where you can learn to make money from home. Thu, 17 Jul 2008 09:10:28 +0200 Managing your own affiliate program involves more than we realize when we first get started. Running a good program and keeping active affiliates is not a ’set it and forget it’ proposition. I know - I devote quite a bit of time to working on my affiliate program and am busy right this minute preparing new creative graphics and articles for my affiliates to use to promote our products. Sometimes you want to have an affiliate program, but you want to keep your focus in your customers and products. In that case, you need to hire someone to do the affiliate management for you. I’ve often recommended Angela Wills of StarVA Virtual Assistant Services to friends who need help with their affiliate program. She has a lot of experience and knows all of the little things a good affiliate manager should do to find and keep motivated affiliates. Angela is offering a free seminar next week that affiliate program owners and managers should make a point to attend if they need a shot in the arm to get their program going. Tue, 15 Jul 2008 03:45:18 +0200 Your Wordpress blog can do a lot more with the content you enter than just display text with a few words made bold or italics here and there. I’ve coached quite a few people through making their posts look more visually interesting and I have made a quick video to show you how you can make use of the tools available to you in your Wordpress blog. You’ll learn how not to copy and paste content and how to make a long blog post ’scan’ worthy. The video is about 15 minutes long, so grab a soda and let’s hang out for a few. We did this in advance of our free blogging for ebay moms seminar we’re doing tomorrow night at 9pm EST. Post from: Work at Home Moms Talk Radio where you can learn to make money from home. You used to be able to put any links you want into your about me page. You could link to your website, share affiliate links, etc. Now that option has been removed. eBay wants you to stick to eBay, plain and simple. Many eBay sellers are feeling pretty disappointed about this. They liked being able to share other resources and links that could lead to additional income. So what should be your response to the situation?I think it’s time - if you’re not already doing so - to be blogging as a way to promote and support your eBay business. A blog gives you a home on the web to say all the things you can’t say in a listing or on your about me page. It’s a virtual traffic magnet that you can use to pull people over to your eBay listings or store. And, it’s a vehicle for promoting affiliate programs that hold the key to adding extra income to your pocketbook without having to list, package or ship anything. Sounds awesome doesn’t? Jenn, Heidi and I decided to hold a free seminar that will teach eBay moms how adding a blog to their eBay business can help them gain traffic and create new streams of income. It will be entirely web based - all you need is a set of speakers to listen in and a microphone if you want to ask questions.
To sign up, visit the Boutigue Bargains Blog right now.Webinar attendees are going to receive a couple of cool perks. First - there’s going to be a special (deep!) discount offer made for having Freshnets build you a customized blog. Second, if you decide to grab the special offer you’ll receive a free one on one training session to make sure you know how to use it. Sat, 12 Jul 2008 03:27:12 +0200 Web 2.0 and the new face of social media provides a working connection between moms who may otherwise never have met. The Wikipedia defines Web 2.0 as “a term describing the trend in the use of World Wide technology and web design that aims to enhance creativity, information sharing, and, most notably, collaboration among users.” Mothers worldwide taking advantage of web 2.0 and all it has to offer. Women who may never have meet otherwise are creating partnerships and teaming up on new business ventures. One example is Moms In A Blog (http://momsinablog.com), a network of blogging moms which launched July 7th. The new collaboration is a prime example of Web 2.0 in action – co-founded by a 27-year-old magazine sales & promotions consultant from Manitoba, Canada and a 41-year-old home-based travel agent from Florida, USA who met at an online networking group. Moms In A Blog uses Web 2.0 to effectively bring together 7 moms from all over North America. Besides the co-owners, the team includes Alyssa Avant - a Christian speaker and writer from Mississippi, Jennifer Lavender – an Oklahoma homeschooler, Dr. Daisy Sutherland – a former Chiropractor from Tampa Bay, Tracy Jo – a Michigan mother who recently added a set of quads to her family, and Eleisia Whitney – a Watkins Manager from California. Together, these seven women who have never met in person are utilizing Web 2.0 to its best advantage and building a booming resource site for other moms around the world. Web 2.0 has opened numerous opportunities for mothers across the world to build their dreams by connecting with other women through online groups, forums and networking events. Using Web 2.0, women are finding opportunities, assisting each other, sharing advice, learning from each other, and forming partnerships that, like Crystal & Tracy’s, would not have been feasible in the past. If you would like more information on this topic, or to schedule an interview contact Crystal at crystal@momsinablog.com or Tracy at tracy@momsinablog.com # # # Contacts: Post from: Work at Home Moms Talk Radio where you can learn to make money from home.
