News feed from JoolDesigns.net about web design and development. Sat, 10 Nov 2007 19:10:03 +0100 Hey, if you are at all a regular visitor to the site then you might have noticed some downtime earlier this week. That's because I was switching hosts, from Dreamhost to Mediatemple. So far Mediatemple has been outstanding and well worth it. If anything is still not working correctly, it's in the todo list so don't worry.
Fri, 31 Aug 2007 01:57:20 +0200 Hey! If there's anyone out there reading this, I am in fact still alive, believe it or not. Anyway, I was thinking that if we had some forums here that maybe the place might start to feel a bit more cozy.
So, as a result of some research and a bit of coding I have created the official JoolDesigns.net Forum! Have a look around, hopefully with time there will be some sort of activity in there. I added a link to the forum in the main navigation bar up there so you will be able to access it from each page on the site.
Sat, 17 Mar 2007 23:35:34 +0100 Yea, there was no update again this Saturday. Seems I am too busy with everything else except the site, I can barely find time to work on updates and goodies, and even when I have that time, it is hard to get anything done. There was an awesome run of updates I had there, but it will have to end unfortunately. I hope this isn't the end of the updates, there should be the odd one here and there but no where near the rate they were at before. Maybe in the summer I'll have more time to start up consistent updates again. Of course the site will continue to be fully functional in it's present state, so enjoy everything I have to offer at the moment and then maybe down the road there will be some new additions.
Mon, 12 Mar 2007 01:48:59 +0100 You might have noticed, no updates this week. The main reason? Elvis had left the building for the weekend and thus nothing really got done. Look for updates next weekend though.
Sat, 03 Mar 2007 19:05:51 +0100 There are a few new updates today, one php tutorial and one small html tutorial. I really don't have much else to say right now, other then to tell you to go check those out.
Sat, 24 Feb 2007 00:59:00 +0100 This week is kind of special, mark it down as 2.5 updates. There are two new php tutorials, each detailing methods about how to use php navigation. I also added an article I wrote about different menu types and the pros and cons of each and generally all about how to set up your page's menus the right way. So go check those out.
Sat, 17 Feb 2007 17:28:21 +0100 Hey sup, I've added some updates today. First of all, a new tutorial about the last modified date and how it is easy to retrieve and display automatically using php. Never update this manually on your pages again! The second half of today's update is an html tutorial about using mailto: and some perks you probably didn't know about and some you do. So go check those out, and remember, if you want something specific in an update, don't hesitate to let me know, I'm always open to suggestions for new updates.
Sun, 11 Feb 2007 17:32:38 +0100 These updates are still really good, even if they are a touch late. The new article I have added talks about a lesser known website that allows you to validate your tableless design has been added. Also, a new php tutorial has popped up which will teach you how to design a layout system in php with the use of a back end file. So go check those out!
Sat, 10 Feb 2007 01:00:10 +0100 This weekend's updates will late and could be as late as Sunday, depending on how things work out. I apologize for any of you (if there are even any) who were looking forward to them Saturday morning but it just hasn't worked out that way this week, but I assure you there will be some goodies for Sunday at the latest. See you then.
Sat, 03 Feb 2007 18:02:18 +0100 Finally it's the weekend, a very tired week comes to an end at last. That also means that it is update time, so heres the goods. There is a new article about the Acid2 Web Standards test, if you have no idea what it is you should go have a look, it is fascinating at the very least. I also added a new PHP tutorial about custom functions and the basics of using them. Have a good weekend!
