Major departure from the horror movie genre and a bit of a soul dive into my musical taste. Oh yeah and my age. Sorry, I'm not the young one I used to be but I sure know how to pick them ringtones. We're sharing, Ministry ringtones here for FREE, specifically a track that redefined the indie metal and Industrial music enslaught, Stigmata.

Stigmata was a culmination of drugs and rock and roll and just plain rebellion. Stigmata is a classic by Industrial Metal band, Ministry. They'd be lucky to even be half as good as they used to be back in the days. Stigmata was released on the group's second album Land of Rape and Honey back in 1988. Yeah, this album kept me humming along, being a musician myself, in awe...I mean sick.

Anyway this is a 23 second ringtone snippet of Stigmata, 160 kbps and it so good. We'll post many more Ministry ringtones, come back and check Free Cool Ringtones blog every so often.

> Ministry's Stigmata ringtone (467kb, MP3 ringtones)

Ambrosia's iPhone ringtone tool, iToner, has been updated to version 1.0.6 which supports the latest iPhone firmware 1.1.3. In a previous post I had referred to the last version of iToner not supporting the most up-to-date firmware version but Ambrosia since has released a new update.

iToner allows you to bypass iTunes per-ringtone fees, drag-&-drop MP3, AAC, WAVE, and AIFF audio files you own to your iPhone for use as custom ringtones.

Download the iToner 1.0.6 which is the latest version: iToner 1.0.6

Back in 1977 an epic science fiction movie was released called Star Wars. Star Wars Episode 3 was designed for all ages and let me tell you, the sci-fi movie started a revolution. George Lucas, a then up and coming director, having finished American Graffiti three years earlier was taking Hollywood by storm. Star Wars featured several unknown actors, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamil, and Carrie Fisher. Lucas enlisted a musical great to herald the epic and usher in our Star Wars ringtone.

The man that rounded out Star Wars, though, in my mind was John Williams. His carefully composed Star Wars theme re-invented the musical score genre. It made the concept mainstream, you would hum the Star Wars main theme, of course because the movie was memorable but the main theme itself embodied the Star Wars universe.

The Star Wars ringtone is, if you haven't guessed, of the main musical score. The mp3 ringtone is about 46 seconds long, 128kbps making it a fairly robust Star Wars ringtone.

> Star Wars main theme (745kb, MP3 ringtone)

As always, find a free ringtone software to side load the Star Wars ringtone onto your cellphone. Oh and if you have any ideas on other Star Wars ringtones, please email me, info at mobilemage dot com.

Ok, so it took me awhile to finally decode my brain for Valentine's Day. What the heck do you give to your love on Valentine's Day? Is there such a thing as a Valentine's Day ringtone? What are Valentine's Day ringtones? Where do I find them? Oh and are they seriously going to be free? No catch, no frills?

Well, you all will be happy to learn that I answered all of the questions earlier and found a neat site that I want to share with you. eNature offers free ringtones, particularly nature ringtones. Ringtones of animals in the wild calling for their mates, yep, mating ringtones!

Guys, I still recommend the flowers, red roses to be exact and ladies, be nice to your boys, we're trying. :-)

Is it Tuesday already? Oh how time flies and I'm reminded of it particularly when I reach into the classic television show ringtone chest. I know, we haven't posted many of those but today the Mission Impossible tv series theme will be transposed into the Mission Impossible ringtone.

We get a lot of folks from around the world these days. So for those who don't know, Mission Impossible is a classic television show which was created by Bruce Geller the same guy who produced Clint Eastwood's television series, Rawhide.

What made Mission Impossible memorable was it's main theme, composed by Lalo Schifrin with musical ingenuity combine with a catchy rhythm. Let's face it the main theme rounded out the classic television show. Mission Impossible was re-instated in 1988 with little success but then was truly transformed and reinvigorated on the big screen by Tom Cruise and Paramount. The Mission Impossible ringtone would be a great addition to any phone.

Remember the Mission Impossible ringtone is in mp3 format so it's a real ringtone, you will need to side load it using a ringtone software.

> Mission Impossible main theme (523kb, MP3 ringtone)

Oh and make sure you right click and select "Save Target As."
Ok, going back a bit to September of 2006, when Crank the movie hit the theaters it was a surprise hit at the box office. Chev Chelios, played by Jason Statham, is a man who learns that if his heart rate drops he'll die thanks to a poison given to him by a rival.

Anyway, throughout Crank the movie you could hear this weird ringtone and of course Statham was on his cell phone constantly. I thought the Crank ringtone would make a cool iPhone ringtone for my phone and then I thought, hey you all would probably like to try it on for a spell.

> Crank ringtone (178kb, MP3 ringtone)

I thought I'd take a day off from posting ringtones and share a quick and dirty review of a product I found while traversing the web.

Ringtone software
Product name: AudioGizmo Ringtone Creator and Ripper
Version: 2.0.5
Download size: 2.65MB
Average Softpedia Rating: 3 stars

How it works
The max file size AudioGizmo's ringtone software takes is 500kb, which is good because the files you’ll find at Free Cool Ringtones blog will be less than that with a few exceptions. You basically open a mp3 file and then upload the file at which point you’re prompted to add ID3 data (artist name, track title and so on), if the file you’re uploading already has that info then you’re set. The file is then prepared to be uploaded, this is when you’re prompted to enter your cell phone number and carrier, once you do so the file will sent to AudioGizmo servers where it’s kept for 24 hours. A few seconds later (5-10 max from what I’ve seen) you’ll receive an SMS alert with the link to retrieve the ringtone from the server to your phone.

Prior to prepping the file you can “fade in” and “fade out” the ringtone simply by highlighting the portion of the file you want as a ringtone. Pretty cool considering you want that low to high volume feel particularly for a ringtone.

The software's startup time is a bit slow, one whole minute! Also, I ran into a couple of 500 errors and ended up losing a ringtone. For some reason, it said that it was uploaded but it wasn't. Hey, the software is free, if you want support and the whole nine yards you can fork over $5 and get it which is a steal considering I dropped 15 bones on Efiko's iPhoneRingtoneMaker.
iPhone users, sorry, this ain’t gonna work for you. You can download and try Efiko software’s iPhoneRingtoneMaker (personally use this product and will provide a review in the coming days).

Key features of AudioGizmo Ringtone Creator

  • Supports MP3, OGG, WMA, and WAV audio ringtones - it supports all bitrates and sample rates.
  • Automatically sends a text message through a variety of the most popular service carriers.
  • Uploads your MP3 ringtone to our servers and remains there for 24 hours. Does not require any wires or cables, although it does provide you with this option.
  • Small download, low memory footprint, very fast execution.
  • Supports ID3 tags (supported by most newer phones).

We realized the other day that we've been focused on horror, sci-fi and thriller type movie ringtone themes. So it made sense to segue into ringtones with a positive tinge to it. We decided to rip a snippet of composer and arranger Henry Mancini's world famous movie theme for a classic comedy series called, The Pink Panther. Ah, Peter Sellers would be proud of our Pink Panther ringtone.

Henry Mancini once said, “If it calls for a Madison or a Twist, I'll do it. And if it calls for a tone row or anything in surreal music I'll do that, too. But the dance band is what has given me the kind of little edge towards the jazz field.” The Pink Panther ringtone embodies this throughout...

The Pink Panther ringtone is prolly not the best quality but it will do the job, try it out and please let us know. We've kept the length within allowable legal limits plus you don't need a 5 minute song for a ringtone do you??

> Pink Panther movie theme (1.4mb, MP3 ringtone)

Will you look at that? Two in one day! Ok, this real ringtone is my all time favorite. The music was originally composed and performed by Mike Oldfield for his album Tubular Bells back in 1973.

The movie that put this on the map though was The Exorcist, directed by William Friedkin with Linda Blair and Max Von Sydow. The Exorcist ringtone is perfect for that special someone who freaks the you know what outta you.

> The Exorcist theme (561kb, MP3 ringtone)
I've been bad, took a couple of days off. I'm back now and I ripped us a ringtone your going die trying to download. Are you ready?

By the way all of you Saw movie fans, director David Hackl and "Saw IV" screenwriters Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton have announced they will be both working on "Saw V" and "Saw VI" and that both films will be shot back-to-back. However, Lionsgate may skip Halloween 2008 and have "Saw V" released on Halloween 2009 and "Saw VI" released on Halloween 2010.

The mp3 ringtone below is a fairly decent snippet of the Saw movie theme by Charlie Clouser who did the Resident Evil scores as well. The guy is talented.

Have we not had enough of the puppet already! If you're seriously in need of the Saw ringtone puppet laugh, then follow this link: Saw Ringtone of puppet laughing

> Saw Movie Theme (385kb, MP3 ringtone)
Now here's a follow up to our infamous John Carpenter Halloween ringtone comes Rob Zombie's "prequel plus" interpretation of Michael Meyer's childhood into in-humanity. A life gone trafically awry, a downward spiral into the eerie ringtone abyss. I've managed (I think) to splice a 20 second snippet of the Halloween 2007 theme.

For those of you who haven't seen Rob Zombie's Halloween, please do so. I recommend it. I will admit that there are flaws and embellishments but it's still a great prequel.

Without further adieux the new Halloween ringtone:
> Rob Zombie's Halloween 2007 (568kb, MP3 ringtone)
Well it didn't take too long for us to get back into the whole horror movie ringtone thing. I don't know what it is, I guess we're fascinated by the horror movie genre. More importantly, I'm of the opinion that music themes from horror movies make great ringtones, horror movie ringtones.

Our latest post is a 22 second ringtone snippet of the original John Carpenter Halloween music score ripped at a bit rate per second of 192. This Halloween ringtone is hot because of its natural crescendo. The eeriness that it builds up to is just too good not to load into your mobile phone. When the Halloween ringtone goes off, it conjures up all of the spooky and slasher scenes that made John Carpenter's Halloween movie a classic in its genre.

I have to imagine that John Carpenter was inspired by The Exorcist theme for the Halloween movie which was composed by Mike Oldfield for his album Tubular Bells cuz while it's not even close musically it certainly reminds me of it. Hey, the Halloween ringtone we've got for you is suhweet, please download and let us know what you think.

> Halloween movie theme (576kb, MP3 ringtone)

By the way John Carpenter's Halloween is available on Blu Ray and it looks amazing.

Ok, I'm going to take a detour today and share some nature ringtones. We'll get back to movies tomorrow but I thought we could used a break. Ringtones that make ya feel relaxed.

The first one is of a waterfall, not too bad, could serve as an alert as well. The second is of a beach, very chill and cool. The last is of a bird singing.

> Waterfall (777kb, MP3 ringtone)
> The Beach (476kb, MP3 ringtone)
> Bird Singing (1.08MB, MP3 ringtone)

By the way the picture is from: http://www.free-nature-animal-butterfly-wallpaper.com/

Let us know what you think. Please!

A few folks asked me to post the ringtone from the American version of One Missed Call. Personally, I think the previous One Missed Call ringtone was spooky and eerier.

The American version of One Missed Call was directed by Eric Valette, starred Ed Burns and Shannyn Sossamon of 40 days and 40 Nights fame. I have to admit, I passed on this one, so I can't say much more other than that critics and movie goers agree that it was a second rate remake.

The One Missed Call american version ringtone is supa simplified. It should serve as a decent ringtone but again, if you're looking for that weird and spooky version, the japanese ringtone is way better.

Well it didn't take but a day for me to get back into the horror movie ringtones habit. Of course, we all have a dark side to us and that alter ego culminates into a desire for some cool arse horror movie ringtones. And sometimes we've gotta import some of the good stuff from across the pond and beyond, far east. In this case, Chakushin Ari or in the USA, One Missed Call comes to mind. The original Japanese horror movie version of One Missed Call was directed by Takashi Miike, the better version. Awesome j horror movie, I highly recommend the Japanese version as it is very good.

Anyway, One Missed Call has this spooky ringtone, when you hear the One Missed Call ringtone, you're essentially receiving a voicemail message from your future self. Well what happens afterwards is just crazy, but good fun horror. The One Missed Call ringtone is one you have to throw onto your mobile phone.

So download the One Missed Call ringtone now, it's in mp3 format, very good quality, totally free and is ready to be side loaded to your cell phone.

> One Missed Call ringtone (425kb, MP3 ringtone)

It's time to pay homage to my favorite buds, Stanley "Stan" Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Theodore Cartman, and Kenneth "Kenny" McCormick from South Park. Sifting through the web, I found a couple of pretty cool South Park mp3 files that would serve as terrific ringtones. The first one is essentially of Cartman singing happy birthday while the second is of Terrance and Philips farting, it's from the South Park Movie.

> Cartman sings Happy Birthday (38.7kb, MP3 ringtone)
> Terrance and Philips farting (83.2kb, MP3 ringtone)

Please email info at mobilemage dot com and let me know what you think or just leave a comment.
Knowing full well that the latest Saw DVD movie, Saw IV just hit the stores last week, I figured it would be a good jesture to drop a couple of key Saw ringtones from the movie that, as it turns out, are great truly freakin' ringtones.

For those not aware (who and where are you anyway?) Saw is a horror flick, a movie originally directed and penned by James Wan, has all the elements of a creepy, mysterious and gory movie. The main antagonist in the movie is a puppet that deliver's the killer's message and he's got this creepy laugh, it's an awesome Saw ringtone and it's the first one listed below. The second one is the theme music from the movie which is eerie and is a perfect ringtone for those eerie acquaintances. Enjoy!

> Saw Puppet Laugh (162kb, MP3 ringtone)
> Saw Movie Theme (381kb, MP3 ringtone)

I found the theme music to one of my favorite game-to-movie series, Resident Evil with Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez. The Resident Evil ringtone file is in mp3 format and the quality is good enough to be a ringtone.

The Resident Evil movie theme ringtone was done by Industrial metal band, Marilyn Manson. It's pretty good, more of an instrumental and it's got bite to it much like the Racoon City zombies do in the movie.

I chopped it up to 20 seconds to keep things legal. Please let me know if the quality holds and if you want any further information.

> Resident Evil ringtone begining (304kb, MP3 ringtone)
> Resident Evil ringtone end (301kb, MP3 ringtone)

If you find any other Resident Evil ringtones, please email me at info at mobilemage dot com.

Enjoy!
I thought I'd take a break from from movies and hit the Television side of things. Yup, Bionic Woman, played by an english actor, Michelle Ryan is smart, swift, omnipresent and from the looks of it you don't want to mess with her. Seriously, she's got a cell phone that rings occassionally on the show with an interesting ringer, it's a bit of an oddity as I couldn't put my finger on which ringtone it was so I looked around the web and found two cellphone ringers, from the Bionic Woman TV show that's worth checking out.

Oh and I don't know if the show is/was cancelled, etc. :-D

The following are two Bionic Woman ringtones, essentially the same. One was created from scratch and the other recorded off the show:

> Bionic Woman's cellphone ringtone (66.2KB, MP3 ringtone)
> Bionic Woman's cellphone ringtone amplified (52.2KB, MP3 ringtone)

Oh and as usual I'm on the hunt, what I'm looking for is the new Bionic Woman theme in mp3 format so that I can share with my readers. If you have it and it's legal then please email me at info at mobilemage.com
Yup, it's certainly looking as though January is Cloverfield monster movie month. Hey why not, right? Lots of folks loved Cloverfield, the monsters and the shaky camera.

Anyway, as a follow to my post of the Cloverfield monster roaring, I thought I'd share a video. The topic of the video has taken the Web and social networks by storm. It essentially replays the ending credits of the Cloverfield movie in reverse to reveal an interesting nugget.

Can you hear the end credits reveal the dialog "It's still alive"? As far as I can tell this is legit, although I haven't tested it myself.

Enjoy!
Sorry folks, the day seemed to fly by! I thought I'd make up my tardy post for those who want a couple of Transformers ringtones, yes mp3 ringtones. Goes without saying but I'm referring to Transformers the movie, yup, the one Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg did. A war re-erupts on Earth between two robotic clans, the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons...you get the idea.

By the way, I did not create these, rather, found these Google'ing, which you are welcome and encouraged to do as well. I supposed you could think of me hunting and gathering for you. :-) Don't forget to get your copy of the Transformers DVD.

> Transformers transforming (53.9KB, MP3 ringtone)
> Transformers theme (338KB, MP3 ringtone)

Folks with iPhones who want to side load these mp3 ringtones, check out, Efiko's iPhone Ringtone Maker. I downloaded the version that supports iPhone firmware 1.1.3, which is in beta but is fully functional and works beautifully. The software will cost you $15, and believe me when I say that I'm not being paid to say how good it is.
Old game but cool free ringtones nonetheless, I found several Halo mp3 ringtones that you can download and side load into your mobile phone or smartphone device. These were originally plucked off of the Xbox mobile site, where you may still be able to find them.

The Halo ringtones are legal and are totally free, as far as I can tell. If you know or think otherwise, please inform me, asap.

Halo Theme (137KB, MP3)
Finish The Fight (137KB, MP3)
Halo Theme (Mjolnir Mix) (138KB, MP3)
The Last Spartan (138KB, MP3)

For those who don't know how to side load mp3 ringtones to their phone, Microsoft has a fairly decent ringtone instruction, provided your phone supports Windows Mobile and you're downloading to your computer using a Windows PC operating system.

For those that have iPhones, I'll post a few quick and dirty instructions. Enjoy!
Ok, so they aren't ringtones but I thought I'd share pics from a bud on Facebook who was gracious enough to collect some real movie footage of the Cloverfield monster.

For those of you who haven't seen the movie, do NOT view the pics, it'll spoil the fun. Below are 9 pictures of the Cloverfield monster, they aren't perfect, don't expect high definition pictures. Enjoy!

Ok, so I saw Cloverfield this past Friday. If you can get past the shaky camera deal, then you will love the movie. It immerses you 100%, think of Independence Day meets Blair Witch Project but no hollywood ending!

Anyway, I'm on the hunt, I need help, we need to give our readers free Cloverfield ringtones. A couple of ideas:

1. Could be a ringtone of a dialogue in the movie

2. Could be the main movie score, played at the end of the movie

3. Has to be legal... :-)

Those are lame ideas I know and I'll leave it open to anyone's creativity to come up with other ideas. You will get credit for submission. This is also a call to the movie studios as well, is there a Cloverfield monster ringtone we can share with our readers?
UPDATE: Just found the Cloverfield monster roar, which could serve as a decent ringtone. Download the Cloverfield Monster Roar (mp3 581 KB).

I'm scared of this one but it's worth sharing with you folks. Yes, it is The Grudge ringtone! For those who don't know, it's an American remake of a Japanese horror flick directed and created by Takashi Shimizu.

The ringtone is essentially of Kayako Saeki, the main spook in the movie, who is snaptured making a croaking noise in an eerie slow death rattle that becomes the trademark of her ghost throughout the film.
