This is sad to market a science fiction series where God is evil. To use fantasy to promote your atheism is wrong, From what information I can get, this is some of what is in the book :God is portrayed as an evil tyrant who they kill. Children are encouraged to have sex. A priest is given the forgiveness to kill before he murders because of an 'indulgence'. There are homosexual angels and the afterlife is a dark and dreary place, until finally the 'good guys' (one of whom is Satan) comes along and frees the souls locked there, allowing them to become wind and flow through the world as one with nature again. Can you believe Satan is GOOD?
This is just another example to remind us that What The World Needs is God!

It is disturbing and we as Christians must make sure our children are not exposed to this book or this movie. The book writes about a senile God and the evil of the Church. It is a direct affront to reach out to children and show a world where evil is the church.
I am not sure what this series of books is all about, I haven't read but if I were the parent of young children I would be sure to read and find out what is behind this movie.

A PRAYER FOR SOLDIERS

Gracious God, I pray for our soldiers. Let your grace be a protective shield, guarding them from harm and keeping them close to your love and compassion. May I always remember that they are the ones who face the horrors and dangers of war first-hand. Help us honor them for their courage and care for them when there is damage to their bodies or spirit. When they are lonely and afraid, and long to be with those whom they love, fill their hearts with the sure knowledge of your presence at all times, in war and peace. Let them feel, O God, deep in their hearts, that your love is always there—boundlessly, unconditionally, and eternally. Amen.

I'm sure many of you have may have seen this post. It has made the rounds in e mails, but it bears repeating. There is always something to be thankful for.


I am Thankful...


I am thankful...for the husband who complains when his dinner
is not on time because he is home with me, not with someone else.

For the teenager who is complaining about doing dishes
because that means she is at home & not on the streets.

For the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed.

For the mess to clean after a party, because it means
that I have been surrounded by friends.

For the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it
means I have enough to eat.

For my shadow that watches me work, because
it means I am out in the sunshine.

For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning,
and gutters that need fixing, because it means I have a home.

For all the complaining I hear about the government,
because it means that we have freedom of speech.

For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot,
because it means I am capable of walking and that I have
been blessed with transportation.


For my huge heating bill, because it means I am warm.

For the lady behind me in church that sings off key,
because it means that I can hear.

For the pile of laundry and ironing, because it
means I have clothes to wear.

For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day,
because it means I have been capable of working hard.

For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours,
because it means that I am alive.

And finally.......for too much e-mail, because it means
I have friends who are thinking of me.

Sadly Alec Baldwin has spoken to his daughter in an angry manner. Children do make mistakes, I am sure he was angry that she did not answer his call, but the way he spoke to her was terrible. We should pray that he is able to control his anger and that this child will understand.
Please Lord, help Alec Baldwin control his anger when he talks to his daughter. Children are so fragile and innocent.

As we grieve for the loss of lives in Virginia,we pray for the families and the loved ones left behind. Pray for them to find the strength to carry on with their lives.
As President Bush said today A parent should not lose a child.Our child goes off to school on the verge of becoming an adult starting their life, they are struck down by another young man disturbed and controlled by Satan to wreak death and sorrow on a quiet college campus.
We can not understand ,we must turn to prayer to find solace. Much of the world weeps for the loss of these lives.

We need to offer a prayer for the families and victims of the terrible shooting tragedy in Virginia.We can never understand what brings a person to kill and injure other people in such a senseless tragedy



Our Father, who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy Name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

I love this movie. The fighting temptations I have the movie and the sound track. It is a great movie about faith and the inner goodness of people. the music is spiritual and up beat.You Can check out the music, and if you get a chance try to see the movie it is great. But listen to the music ,I have chosen a few for you to hear.

Britney can use all the prayers she can get. She seems to be a young woman out of control. So many rumors being written in the tabloids and on the Internet.Clearly she is a young woman in need of help before she destroys herself. We should remember her and her family in our prayers. Pray that Britney overcomes her addictions and is able to come back to her life with her beautiful children.
As a Mother I see all these stories, and I feel so sad inside that she seems so tormented and unhappy and the world is so busy criticizing her. Please Keep her in your prayers!

I have read most of Anne Rice's books about the Vampire Lestat and other vampire and devilish characters. She is an intense writer bringing alive the the vampire's evil bloody existence.
After decades and many books she was brought back to her Catholic faith.She asked her assistant to recommend a priest. She went to him and made her confession.

She returned to the Lord in 1998. "My life is committed to Christ the Lord," she said. "My books will be a reflection of that commitment."

Praise the Lord for the New Year! Instead of making a list of resolutions I decided I would make one big one. I would trust in the Lord,let him guide me instead of second guessing and asking why things happen. I have to release my worries to him.

Silent Night was my Grandmother's favorite Christmas song,and she sang the first few lines in German every year. I can still hear her voice each Christmas as I listen and sing it. Merry Christmas to All. Jesus is the reason for the season!

Music will touch your soul and reinforce your faith or perhaps help you find some faith ,we can all benefit by reading the words in red and having faith in Jesus and what he offers us.
I have been posting about music lately,but music appeals to so many people,I have always found solace in music even the songs that make me cry. And sometimes that is what a good song is about it makes you remember,think,and cry.

So many conservative Christians are quick to dismiss contemporary Christian music,and that is a shame,because they are missing out on some great musicians giving glory to the Lord.
Now in my humble opinion. I love many, many different types of music both in secular and christian music. There are songs ranging from classical,rock and roll,jazz, easy listening,country ,even hip hop and rap. I love the old hymns,How Great Thou Art for example never fails to bring a tear to my eye. I also recognize the value of other types,the more contemporary ,Mercy Me for example.
They bring their talent and ministry to sing about us being in the glory of the lord. How could any one of us know or imagine how we would react or behave? This particular song of theirs makes me break down and cry,while in my mind I do imagine being in his presence and knowing I am not worthy,but that I have come to him through his sacrifice for my sins. And as the tears flow I think of my loved ones whose faith has taken them to be with Him also,and I know I will see them again.
