An agreement with gaming website King.com has put online bingo and online games developer Net Entertainment in touch with up to 18 million players.

The deal will see Net Entertainment supply its CasinoModule product to King .com which operates over 150 million game rounds per month.  Net Entertainment includes online bingo games as part of its product range.

"Providing high quality entertainment to our players is imperative for us. We chose Net Entertainment's CasinoModule because we believe that their product best supports our continued expansion and the size of our business places quite stringent requirements on the platforms we work with" said King.com’s David Blomquist, Director of Business Operations.

The deal marks the ninth CasinoModule licensee Net Entertainment has signed this year.

Clarion Gaming is reporting that eQube International of Reno, Nevada, an electronic bingo solutions provider, has made a deal with UK bingo operator Mecca Bingo to install their handheld e-bingo devices in up to twenty-one Mecca Bingo halls.

Former online bingo hall front person and celebrity glamour model Katie Price (aka Jordan) and her husband have been awarded substantial libel damages after taking the News of the World to court for portraying the couple as uncaring parents.

Known in the online bingo games world for her former work with popular UK online bingo hall Foxy Bingo, Katie Price said: "Pete and I love our kids, and would do anything for them.”

The case was brought after the News of the World published an article based on an interview with a former nanny who had worked for Katie Price and her husband.  The News of the World’s solicitor apologised for the story and accepted that the article’s allegations were untrue.

"Anyone who has kids can imagine how it would feel to be accused publicly of being bad parents,” said Ms Price. "We came here today to see that justice was done and that our names were cleared… Now that the paper has accepted the story wasn't true, apologised to us, and paid us damages and our costs, we believe the record has been set straight and our names have been cleared."

Katie Price parted ways with Foxy Bingo after the website decided to change direction in its advertising strategy. Foxy Bingo is one of the most popular bingo online operators in the UK and features regularly on free online bingo information portals such as Bingo Street.

Interactive TV gaming company NetPlayTV has appointed former BBC light entertainment manager Michael Leggo to the position of director of television.  His responsibilities will take in all the company’s TV gaming and products.

Online bingo observer and expert Joe Saumarez-Smith is asserting via a Bloomberg article that Europe’s bingo online industry is set for growth despite a slowdown in the amount of new online bingo halls being launched.

Noting that the UK is the world’s best developed online bingo games market with the number of online bingo halls expanding from 17 websites in 2004 to 243 websites in 2008, Saumarez-Smith says about half a million UK online bingo players are estimated playing games each month.

Spain is identified as the next most competitive online bingo market in Europe with an increase to 40 Spanish language online bingo halls in the last year.

Saumarez-Smith, while bullish on the prospects of European online bingo opportunities, takes a conservative view when taking into account potential legal risks stemming from existing protectionist policies by certain European markets.  He also cautions against over expectations regards overseas markets where there is no tradition of land bingo.

The current economic slump also comes in for comment with a warning that events could still impact on the growth of bingo online.
