Death Disco Radio presents Joe Le Bon. From the small village of Viitasaari in the middle of Finland, which is also known from its annual experimental music festival Time of Music, comes "a new type of fantastic mover" as said by DJ Hell in DJ Magazine, 2007. Parties, DJing and music has always been integral part of Joe's life, but not until few years back he decided to take it a bit more seriously. Today, Joe Le Bon is one of the highlights of Finnish techno scene. Since then he has become known not just as a deejay, who has shared the stage with Hell, John Tejada, Tiga, Martin Landsky, Joakim, Troy Pierce, Gaiser, Richard Bartz, Hybrid, The Field, Markus Guentner, Steve Barnes and few others..., but also as a successful organiser of various parties at the top nightclubs of Helsinki. DJ Hell takes you on a ride with this unbelievable live Death Disco Radio mix. Live in Vienna 2008, keeps you on the edge of your seat. Dont touch that dial, since wont hear this anywhere but Death Disco Radio. Forget about TV, Forget about radio, Death Disco Radio brings you the sound of our generation. DJ Hell (or simply Hell) has balanced Detroit minimalism and Chicago acid-house as well as more spacious German trance and hardcore. Beginning his mixing career while still a teenager, Hell moved through punk and new wave to electro, house and hip-hop by the mid-’80s. His DJing gradually led to the start of his production career, and one of his first singles “My Definition of House Music” became a large club hit when reissued by Belgium’s R&S Records in 1992. He moved to Berlin to work with Hardwax Records during 1993-94, and also spent time in New York before moving back to his native Munich. Besides releasing his album debut Geteert und Gefedert on Disko B in 1994, DJ Hell recorde...

Death Disco Radio Presents: Traxx. -Artist profile bio: Traxx “painters paint their pictures on canvas, musicians paint their pictures on silence” A musician like no other. Not content to be labeled as merely a DJ, a producer, or even a DJ/Producer, Melvin Oliphant III aka Traxx is a lover of music — one with a passion so intense that it overcomes genre divides to weave an altogether original, exciting, and multi-textured musical fabric which envelops both the avid clubber and the home listener, as well as everyone in between. Death Disco Radio’s broadcast of the 1981 concert celebrates Kraftwerk’s show tonight at Myth Nightclub (April 19, 2008) for what is rumoured to be their last US appearance in Minneapolis/St. Paul MN. HISTORY- Kraftwerk’s pioneering work can be found in the use of computer-speech software, vocoders, Moog synthesizer, and drum machines. Live performance has always played an important part in Kraftwerk’s activities. Kraftwerk’s 2008 setup is quite different from the past, as they integrate the Tenori-On instrument/controller/interface by Yamaha, Jazz Mutant Lemur, and new custom 2008 vocoder setup. Also, despite their live shows generally being based around formal songs and compositions, live improvisation often plays a noticeable role in their performances—this trait can be traced back to the group’s roots in the experimental krautrock scene of the late 1960s, but significantly, it has continued to be a part of their playing even as they make ever greater use of digital and computer-...

Death Disco Radio presents Jor-el (International DJ Gigolos). Biography: As a kid I used to go to the musicstore after school, just to find myself standing for hours enchanted by the mysterious sounds coming out from all the synthezisers that covered the walls. It was somehow the sound of the future and it allways stayed in my mind as an echo. My parents bought me a keyboard, totally unaware of the difference. I wanted to create my own sounds. Years later i bought my first real synth and a drum machine. With my Prophet 2000(sampler/synth) and my Roland 707 drummachine I started to make my first tracks. It was the early 90ties and I was totally consumed by the emerging ravescene, spending the weekends in dark clubs or in giant warehouses. These were the days that techno really went big in Sweden for the first time. One day I heard a track on my favourite radiostation that really made an impact. The guy who did the track was named Roni Size and this is how I met Drum n´Bass. No one pl...

Death Disco Radio’s 1st Anniversary features DJ Hell (Gigolo label boss) for an unforgettable mix. DJ Hell (real name Helmut Josef Geier, born in Munich on September 6, 1962) has been responsible for many of the big records to come out of the Electroclash or German Squelch scene that emerged in Berlin in the mid-nineties. He is seen as the musical initiator of the 80s Revival movement later known as Electroclash popularizing the music from his hometown Munich from the mid to late 90s. In the summer of 1977, Hell bought his first punk record – The Damned’s DAMNED, DAMNED, DAMNED (1976) – and found himself immediately hooked on the music’s febrile energy and raw, instinctive power. By 1978, Hell found himself playing records in a local nightclub. “It was a club for hippies,” he later recalled. “They really hated us.” But Hell’s night became a popular draw and he graduated to the club’s weekend slot. With Disko B, Hell began to explore a dark, almost gothic strain of techno. Tracks lik...

Death Disco Radio presents Mick Wills (International DJ Gigolos). You know the saying ‘dance like nobody is watching’? transfer this to dj’ing, and you could end up with something like ‘play like there is no tomorrow. an obsessive way of spinning records. and this is exactly how you could describe the way mick wills plays. mick is not an entertainer or superstar, but one of the few true artist dj’s left, someone for whom the music is still all that matters. mick wills starts his dj-career in 1986 at the tender age of 14, playing at small private parties in his hometown in the south of germany. he plays anything from new wave to hi nrg, and when he discovers techno, acid, and new beat in the late 80’s, there is no more stopping him. he can recite the mailorder hotline number from the hardwax record store in his sleep, but also finds old disco and funk records on fleamarkets and on record fairs. in 1994, one night he spins together with dj hell. hell is impressed: he gives wills the c...

Futuristic? Yes! Sexy? Sleazy as blood red lipstick! Grab onto your seats and slip on your black gloves as Death Disco Radio.com brings you yet another fabulously italo-licious mix from the legendary Italian DJ Producer Salvatore Cusato aka Casco, who represents the expression of Italodisco characterized by the typical synths, a distinct bassline and vocoder and greater sentimental register. Casco – Live in London on Death Disco Radio.com is a dancefloor mix that has many new remixes, never heard before, white labels, and right from Salvatore’s record crate. Italo Disco as heard from an Italo disco synth pop no wave. Casco is arguably one of the main icons the Italodisco scene, and has major hit in 1983 with “Cybernetic Love “(CGD Italy/House of Music). This track was reconized as one of most futuristic record ever produced in Italy (“LOOPS una historia de la musica electronica” by Javier Blanquez/Omar Morera Mondadori Spain 2002) . Death Disco Radio brings back our favorite German DJane Miss Sugar. Mei...

DJ June D of the MuseBox is our featured artist for Death Disco Radio. June’s killer mix was a hit in San Fran and is sure to burn up the radio waves. It is said that radio is for the unattractive and, if you know your Fame quotes, that “tits book bands” so, seeing an impossibly attractive woman in the DJ booth is often seen as played out marketing, but June Deuell is less D’arcy being marginalized to the bass guitar and more Gwen Stefani singing some of the most catchy pop songs of the 90s. Once the party was securely in the downtown scene, the SoulPusher Triumvirate earned a residency at Beauty Bar and was guest DJing at parties like Shindig!, Motherf$$$er, Byte, MisShapes, Rated X and Trash!; clubs like Movida; and for companies like GBH and MyOpenBar.com. Death Disco Radio is proud to present Reid Speed. Drum’n’bass and two-step DJ Reid Speed started DJing her senior year in high school, two years after she entered New York City’s dance music community. Formally known as Reid Margolis, Speed started playing out just short of a year after she began spinning. Her local career swiftly took off, as she was soon playing at a large handful of local parties and received her first rotating residency, all within two years. Her affiliation with Stuck on Earth promotions began when founder, Chris Kausch, caught her at a local event. In April of 1998, her knowledge and experience landed her a job at DJ Dara’s record store, Breakbeat Science. Working in the well-known store exposed Speed to many promoters and artists and gave her an avenue to further her DJing. The job also lead to her residency at DJ Seoul’s Direct Drive nights. She has worked on productions with FS (of Ming & FS) and her first mix CD, Reeespect, was released through Stuck on Ea...
