A number of years ago there were rumors that Master Replicas had picked up the Ghostbusters license from Sony and were going to produce props based on the classic franchise. Then everything went silent and fans had to deal with all the expensive fan made proton packs and traps. I bought one too, you can admit it.

So, you can imagine my level of excitement when Master Replicas announced that they had indeed secured the GB license! If you've purchased any Star Wars items from these folks in the past, then you know we're in for some highly detailed and accurate toys!

Working closely with Sony Pictures Consumer Products, Master Replicas will work its magic to ensure authenticity and accuracy. Master Replicas initial Ghostbusters product range will include authentic limited edition prop replicas as well as a few “surprises” just in time for the 25th anniversary of this pop-culture property.

A movie that compares itself to The Exorcist and The Exorcism of Emily Rose has some pretty big shoes to fill, but from all indications The Haunting in Connecticut seems poised to do just that.

Starring Virginia Madsen, Martin Donovan, Kyle Gallner, and Elias Koteas, The Haunting in Connecticut is based on a true story. The plot synopsis is as follows: "When Sara (Madsen) and Peter (Donovan) Campbell's son Matt (Gallner) is diagnosed with cancer, they uproot their family to Connecticut for his treatment. As the family settles into their new home, Matt grows increasingly disturbed by paranormal activity that seems to inhabit and possess the house. At a loss to help her frightened family, his mother turns to an enigmatic priest (Koteas) who appears to rid the house of its ghosts--until the boy's condition takes a sudden and unexplained turn for the worse and their lives are put in grave danger.

If it sounds an awful lot like A Haunting in Connecticut from The Discovery Channel's "A Haunting", it's because it is a fictionalized re-telling of that particular episode of the series. But as a fan of the paranormal, I say the more ghosts, the merrier. Besides, Madsen elevates just about anything she's in, so I'll be there for sure when this flick is released by Lionsgate in 2009.

We just found a set of the first images from Jamie Blanks’ upcoming remaking of the nature gets revenge movie Long Weekend, which will be showing itself at the upcoming American Film Market in Santa Monica.

The remake stars Jim Caviezel and Claudia Karvan as a couple vacationing in an attempt to resurrect their dying marriage. A disrespect for nature leads to some pretty horrifying consequences, however, and soon they’re fighting for their lives.

We’ve been keeping you in the loop regarding the latest film from Waz (review) director Tom Shankland, The Children, and it seems our diligence has paid off! This morning we were provided with a ton of new stills and six, count 'em six, teaser clips from the film, which you can scroll down to check out in their entirety.

The story of The Children revolves around a set of families whose relaxing Christmas vacation goes horribly wrong when their children start turning on them. Something I always hoped would happen when I was on vacation with my family, actually.

I know you’ve all been chomping at the bit for more info on Vacancy 2, so I’m glad we can finally give you your first glimpse at it. A reader by the name of “gameboy” dropped us a heads-up that a rough cut of the trailer for the prequel is now online, so scroll on down to check it out!

Vacancy 2: The First Cut was helmed by Vampire Bats director Eric Bross and will see a direct-to-DVD release on January 20th, 2009.

Well, it’s official finally; Milla Jovovich has joined forces with Brittany Snow to take part in Martin Weisz’ upcoming Clock Tower movie, so now we’re fairly confident we can say this one’s not going to be worth the wait.

Bloody Disgusting confirmed the rumor that started spreading around last week about Jovovich’s participation in the game-to-film. The star of the Resident Evil trilogy will star as a woman in a psych ward who befriends the lead character, played by Snow, when they discover a shared family history. Meanwhile a psychotic madman dubbed Scissorman is pursuing her and keeping the family curse going strong.

Actually there are a lot of different synopses out there so I’m not sure what the film will be about, only that it was supposed to be following the plot of Clock Tower 2 the last I heard. I’m sure it’ll all become clear soon, as shooting on the film is supposed to start up in November.

Over at his other home on Action Figure, our man Nomad just got word from Hasbro that things are in flux on the state of the company’s upcoming Cloverfield monster toy, which may or may not be upcoming now...

He received an e-mail with a status update on the toy, which listed it as both “discontinued” and shipping out sometime in December of this year. Since the toy was supposed to be out this month and not a soul has actually seen one outside of Toyfair, there’s a good chance Hasbro realized that maybe they weren’t the best ones to put this thing out.

Obviously we’ll keep an eye open and let you know when something more solid is understood about the fate of the Cloverfield beast, so keep your eyeballs here!

Bill Malone’s trippy horror film Parasomnia will finally be having its premiere at Screamfest LA this Friday, and to help make sure you horror freaks are aware of it, Malone just sent out a new batch of stills and a very cool invite postcard for the screening.

Dig ‘em below and be sure to hit the official Parasomnia site to learn more and if you're planning on going early, Jeffrey Combs will be signing the film's poster starting at 6pm. These posters will be pretty rare very soon so you'd better make it a point to be there!

Remember that sci-fi flick coming up from Antibodies director Christian Alvart, Pandorum? It’s got Dennis Quaid, Ben Foster and Norman Reedus? If not, check out some serious plot info below.

Two crewmen awaken from hyper-sleep aboard a spacecraft. None of their equipment is working, and their memories are incomplete. What was their mission? How much time has passed? Where are they? Who are they? As they try to piece things together, they discover they are not alone, and the ship's new inhabitants - tribal warriors carrying crudely made weapons - are moving among them, intent on killing all aboard. As the space travelers unravel the frightening and deadly secrets the ship harbors, they realize the survival of mankind hinges on their actions. They must regain control of the ship before Pandorum takes over.

The guys at Quiet Earth got their hands on early poster art for the film along with the above synopsis, which sounds a lot cooler than even I had expected based on earlier summaries.

Warner Bros. Interactive has decided to take the Dead Space route with their upcoming sequel F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin and opened up a community website for the game. To kick the site off, one of the game’s designers, Craig Hubbard, has posted a new blog with new info on why the regenerative health system is gone and the Medkit is back. Check it out right here!

In case you didn’t know, here’s some official plot for the game, F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2005 smash hit game, F.E.A.R., is a blend of advanced visceral combat mixed with seamless game pacing set inside a sinister and paranormal universe that begins shortly before the ending of F.E.A.R. A Special Forces squad is on a routine mission when the city of Auburn is rocked by a supernatural explosion. Alma, a girl with immense power and a thirst for revenge, has unleashed her wrath upon the city and thrown it into chaos. The squad must combat enemy forces and the supernatural as they struggle to find a way to stop Alma and uncover the mysterious forces arrayed against them before it's too late.
