Of course, we were talking about Release Management today and of COURSE most people's eyes were glazed over like a Krispy Kreme donut! Many said "meh" to the concept of a Release policy. That was of course, until after I gave them a "back to basics" definition and then....well....forced them to do an exercise on it. A points based certification structure that allows everyone with an ITIL certification to not only go from V2 to V3 quickly and easily. One of the things I know from experience. ITIL is VERY VERY difficult to implement in a University environment. One of the BIGGEST factors is the at times extreme kingdoms that are built within a University. Silo's are not only used, they are used as a wall to keep "the others" out.
