Poker pro John Phan was able to to win his 2nd WSOP bracelet at the Event#40. He won his first bracelet at the Event#29 of the WSOP.

The European Poker Tour recently release their schedule for the season V of the tour. EPT founder John Duthie said that he is hoping that the tour will attract even more players.

Phil Ivey and Golden Nugget will host a poker event at the Golden Nugget casino on July 1st, 2008. The main beneficiary for the Budding Ivey Foundation and its Empowered 2 Excel program.

Poker player Vitaly Lunkin is the champion of the 2008 WSOP No Limit Holdem Poker tournament. He defeated Brett Kimes in the heads-up showdown to win the $628,417.

The chip leader after the 2nd day of the Bodog Waterford Open is Mick G with 320,000 chips. The previous leaser was Simon McGechie who only has 90,000 chips.

Just recently, Bryn Mawr has produced 2 poker champions. Beth Shak won the no limit holdem event in the 2007 WSOP and Eric Brooks won the 7 card stud event in the 2008 WSOP.

The APT leg in Macau will offer an additional $500,000 guaranteed cash pool. David Saab from Australia won the APT Manila Leg.

Christopher Parker said that they hope that poker will attract more players in the Philippines. He said that they are wary of the Church but they just followed the lead of PAGCOR on the issue.

The $10,000 POT Limit Holdem event at the 2008 WSOP has only seventy players left. The current chip leader is Eli Elezra.

Some of the changes at the 2008 WSOP is that the final table will be held on November 2008. The main reason is that to give ESPN adequate time to televise the event.
